In Their Own Story
In her first mission, Akane Tsunemori judges Enforcer Shinya Kogami a threat to an apprehended criminal's life and uses her Dominator to prevent him from decomposing the criminal. Initially ashamed, she is thanked by Kogami for preventing what could be perceived as murder, an opinion which influences her to stay on the force. The unit hunts Makishima, with Kogami most invested after losing a friend at the villain's hands. When Makishima attacks Masaoka and kills him attempting to murder his son Ginoza with dynamite, Kogami spots and wounds Makishima but is stopped by Tsunemori. They agree to work together, but when Makishima attempts to kill Tsunemori, Kogami uses Masaoka's gun to kill Makishima. In the epilogue, Tsunemori becomes the new leader as she welcomes Inspector Mika Shimotsuki.
